Are you an enthusiastic individual an a great team player?We are currently looking for a Facilities Service Assistant to join our team in Crewkerne Community Hospital.
The role has a variety of hours available, to be worked over a 7 day period.
The shifts may vary to meet the needs of the service and the service runs between the hours of 0730 and 1930 to include weekends and bank holidays.
- unless a prior agreement has been made with the Facilities Team Leader.The main duties of the role will include the following:
Cleaning:
Cleaning departments within the Hospital such as inpatients, outpatients, X-Ray, toilets, meeting rooms & offices.
Portering:
Removal of waste, movement of supplies, acceptance of deliveries, ordering of laundry.
Catering:
Prepare patient meals using a cook freeze service. Cleaning duties within the main kitchen.
Please note you may be asked to cover another site on occasion.

- Completion of all mandatory training required within the job role, such as COSHH, safe use of equipment, moving and handling, food hygiene etc.
- To work as part of a dedicated team in a flexible manner, be willing to work across the disciplines listed below:
- To clean areas to a high and recognised standard
- Cleaning duties include floor mopping, damp dusting, low
- Complete ad hoc cleans when a patient moves to another area.
- Moving of waste and laundry to holding areas in line with Policies, supporting the collection by external companies.
- Place basic orders with suppliers.
- Accept and pack away deliveries as required.
- Ensure external areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Follow Trust guidance for gritting and snow clearance.
- Change curtains as per local protocol.
- Oversee the provision of Oxygen to patients as directed by the Facilities Team Leader
- Prepare basic hot and cold food items for patients' meals
