Join us as our Data & MI Strategy Lead

  • You'll be responsible for the endtoend delivery of strategic and tactical projects, delivering agreed business outcomes while coordinating various technology and change teams
  • Daytoday, you'll be forming and leading a group of data engineers to make up the Data & MI team for the mortgages domain

What you'll do
We'll look to you for ownership and definition of the data and management information strategy for the mortgages domain.

To do this, you'll work closely with a range of stakeholders across business, technology, and services areas to understand and meet therequirements of the data strategy.

You'll work with the mortgages product business to design a range of real time and offline reporting tools and capabilities, replacing a range of legacy, manual processes.

We'll also expect you to understand how to drive up quality and reliability of data sourcedand modified across the domain.


You'll also be responsible for:

  • Establishing a set of standards and approaches for embedding the use of data, events, reporting and analysis across the domain, adhering to bank standards where applicable
  • Setting the strategic direction of the team, supported by the senior technical members
  • Making sure project deliverables can achieve customers' goals within a wellconsidered total cost of ownership
  • Building effective relationships with stakeholders, both directly and via the project team, to ensure timely delivery of solutions which support the business
  • Safeguarding, building, and keeping in mind the reputation of the bank while interacting with all stakeholders

The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you'll have an engineering leadership background, including experience with technology. You'll also have experience of retail banking products and services with mortgages or other lending products. A related STEM degree wouldalso be advantageous.

We'll expect you to understand a range of technologies used in modern data and MI strategy, such as SnowFlake, Kafka, Mongo, Atlas, and Tableau.

You'll also understand regulation and data lineage, retention, and ownership to ensure adherence to mandatory principles,such as GDPR.

You'll also need:

  • Experience of leading the design, development, and delivery of data strategy in a regulated, productaligned, financial services environment
  • Experience of designing and implementing a range of data streaming, storage reporting and analysis technologies
  • The ability to implement a productaligned data strategy in a complex, regulated, financial services environment, including data cleansing and lineage, security, and customer matching
  • An understanding of the critical role of regulation within data strategy and the importance of implementing capabilities for the needs of record retention and deletion for GDPR compliance
  • Knowledge of how to work closely with a range of business and technology stakeholder groups, aligning the strategy for product teams with bank strategy and engineering standards
