Job description:


Role Purpose


KPMG's award-winning Digital Workplace team are responsible for all end user tools which provide the ability to connect, collaborate and communicate.

Microsoft is at the heart of our enterprise stack with M365, Teams and a Windows Desktop providing a large portion of the estate.


We are looking for a highly motivated individual to be a key member of the Digital Labs team that manage all aspects of the technology relating to products sitting within Microsoft Office 365 and the Digital Workplace portfolio.

Working in conjunction with the Product Owners the primary focus of the role will be to provide technical leadership and technology ownership for products and services


This will include:

  • Having in depth knowledge of the functionality of products.
  • Being able to advise on how a product fits or should be used.
  • Plan and drive effective changes
- ensure that products are operated in line with security standards and the required governance
- that effective support is in place
- understand products' roadmaps and lifecycle.


The role will be accountable for ensuring the service being implemented through the team is in line with business expectations and delivers sustainable performance and availability.


Key Accountabilities:


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Deliver quality business solutions and service improvements through large projects and small initiatives.
  • Ensure the successful transition of new services and associated documentation into the Service Operations teams.
  • SME input into evaluation and risk assessment of new technologies.
  • Working with different roles and disciplines, e.g. technical managers, leads, test manager, project managers and business analysts to achieve the desired outcome for the end customer.
  • Accountability for aspects of operational acceptance criteria required for the successful delivery of new services and working with relevant teams to ensure they are transit appropriately.


Ocasionally assist the Service Operations teams with the investigation, escalation and resolution of Infrastructure technical issues that cannot be resolved by the BAU teams.


  • Working with 3rd parties service providers to assist in deployment of new services within KPMG.
  • Working with 3rd party vendors where necessary including raising support tickets and managing incidents to resolution.
  • The production and subsequent updating of configuration and operational documentation, including periodic reviews of settings and configuration.
  • Creating PowerShell scripts to automate compliance and product management processes
  • Drafting test plans and supporting/coordinating pilot and test of DW products Knowledge

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have several years' experience of managing and configuring Microsoft Office 365 suite in a similar IT technical role, ideally within a Professional Services environment
  • Experience of building and managing test lab environments to evaluate, test and troubleshoot issues, including Exchange and Teams.
  • Enterprise Platforms and Applications
  • All Microsoft O365 products (with focus on Teams, Exchange Online and Integration with cloud or inhouse technologies)
  • Preferable to have experience of deployment of Enterprise Voice in Teams, including Auto Attendants/Call Queue and Teams devices.
  • Preferable to have knowledge of Microsoft Surface Hub configuration and deployment.
  • Good working knowledge of AD and Azure Active Directory in hybrid configuration
  • Knowledge of Exchange Hybrid (On Premises and Online) and mail flow
  • Understanding of the process for Application registration and permissions with AAD
  • The ability to identify sources of data and perform analysis to support project activities
  • Experience of management for nonMicrosoft collaboration tools such as Zoom, Webex, Miro, Slido, Kaltura
  • Knowledge of SAML and user provisioning with SaaS services to effect JML and security requirements.
  • Can identify and articulate risks and security issues from product changes or configuration changes
  • Experience of working within a project deployment environment.
  • Experienced in planning, facilitating, and managing change strong facilitation skills are key for this role.
  • Experience of taking ownership of key issues and activities and managing the expectations of key stakeholders around timely delivery.
  • Strong technical skills within the relevant Applications technical area particularly Microsoft Office 365 Teams and Enterprise voice, call queues and auto attendants.
