Hours: 30 per week (hours Monday - Wednesday 5.00pm pm, Thursday 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday 2:00pm - 9:00pm)
Working 5 days a week and bank holidays

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Support Team as a Relief Assistant Support Worker. You will work with our Support Workers to empower individuals to move on and break the cycle of homelessness. You will also complete day to day activities including administration tasks and reception duties.


Job Summary:


This position is based at Witham Lodge in Skegness, providing accommodation-based support to men and women over the age of 18 who are experiencing homelessness.

The post is as and when required, including weekends and bank holidays, to cover annual leave, training or sickness.


You will be required to work within relevant policies and legislation such as safeguarding and Health & Safety and to maintain your continuous professional development.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure successful client outcomes which demonstrate quality and effectiveness in all aspects of the programme
  • Understand and work to ensure the achievement of the contractual objectives and targets of the service
  • Work with the team to demonstrate development of service delivery in line with organisation and legislative requirements
  • Ensure locally established internal and contractual KPI's are achieved.
  • Ensure all aspects of the job description are adhered to
  • An understanding of homeless issues
  • Willingness and motivation to engage homeless clients
  • Strong team working skills
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills with clients, colleagues and external agencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient IT skills (including Microsoft packages)
  • Ability to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army with regards to delivering services to vulnerable people without discrimination
