Cargill Protein Europe has an exciting opening at our manufacturing site in Wolverhampton. This is a state-of-the-art facility, producing well known, high quality ready-to-cook products for the Quick Service Restaurant sector. It is a key site for the business of Cargill Protein Europe, with continuous investments and growth.


The role of the Site Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Lead will be responsible for planning and maintaining all elements of the food safety, quality, and regulatory systems on site, ensuring compliance to statutory and customer requirements.

This key position will help shape the Food Safety and Quality Culture onsite, empower a team of FSQR professionals and partner with the rest of the site to achieve the goals for Food Safety, Quality set by the business and function.

The Site FSQR Lead is a key member of the Site Leadership Team and is also a member of the Extended Leadership team of the Cargill Protein Europe Business.

The role reports to the FSQR Director of Cargill Protein Europe.

This is a permanent, full time position Monday-Friday based at the Wolverhampton site with some home/ flexible working options.
Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the implementation and compliance of all food safety, quality, and regulatory processes based on Cargill own's requirements, industry standards and customer specific expectations.
  • Maintain a robust crisis management plan in the event of a major Food Safety/ Quality incident and manage incidents on
- site.

  • Coordinate and partner with Cargill Regional FSQR and other central teams on legislative changes, new systems, and process standardization.
  • Communicate with customers relating to ;queries including but not limited to; complaints, audits, specific requests, projects.
  • Actively provide consultation to the business around new FSQR technology and process improvements.
  • Collate data relating to the FSQR process to ensure accurate and real time data is used to inform decisions and prepare regular reports for the business and functional reporting on key performance indicators for FSQR.
  • Embed a Food Safety and Quality mindset across the site operation at all levels.
  • Work closely with Operations, Supply chain and R&D to ensure Quality and Food Safety are embedded in the cross
- functional process and risks are identified with customer's and consumer's safety at the forefront.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement onsite with regards to quality and food safety and lead or facilitate CI projects.
  • Empower and support a diverse team of FSQR professionals, manage the FSQR team onsite (up to 3 Direct reports and up to 25 indirect)
- prepare talent reviews, development plans and performance reviews.

  • Collaborate with sister sites and other Cargill sites in the business or the region, encourage knowledge sharing and best practices adoption.
  • Participate in Leadership meetings to ensure that the Site FSQR function is aligned with the strategic direction of the site and business.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience working in a Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory role in a large, complex Food manufacturing facility or multisite operation.
  • Knowledge and experience of GMP, HACCP, ISO9001: 2015, ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001, Halal standards.
  • Can effectively communicate at all levels of an organization and empower a diverse team of cross functional colleagues (FSQR, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain).
  • Able to balance strategic and operational requirements.
  • Proven record of successful leadership roles and ability to manage high performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications

  • British Retail Consortium (BRC) or Safe Quality Food (SQF) audit experience.
  • High risk (Red Meat/ Poultry) experience would be advantageous.
