GROUP / ACTIVITY CO-ORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY
To co-ordinate, organise and facilitate successful and safe provision of services delivered in a group setting for Visually Impaired People with the support of volunteers.
DUTIES
- Set up, promote, organise, and run groups, considering individual needs of attendees.
- To liaise with volunteers to ensure all groups are fully covered, to meet and greet attendees, guide them to venue and serve refreshments.
- To support existing volunteers and actively recruit new ones
- Arrange attendance of speakers, professionals, and activities.
- To contact Service Users to confirm attendance and book taxis where required.
- Set up appropriate venue(s), booking rooms, and refreshments arrangements at each group.
- Create a safe, enjoyable, and friendly environment.
- To take account of the individual needs of group attendees when designing group sessions and adjusting the programme as necessary.
- To ensure that sessions run to time and are well designed to allow participants to engage fully and to maximise their enjoyment and beneficial impact.
- To assist the group attendees to feel welcome and to understand the aims and benefit of the group(s).
- To be receptive to the views and opinions of group attendees during the group and when seeking to plan, develop and design future groups.
- Communicate client needs, issues and concerns with office manager and other staff members.
- Experience in carrying out risk assessments.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Ensure that groups are appropriately organised, and arrangements communicated with attendees, staff, volunteers, and that the relevant health & safety checks and risk assessments have been completed.
- Monitor and maintain records of group attendance and activity in line NVS requirements.
- Arrange speakers, professionals, and activities for various groups.
- Arrange appropriate transport to meet client needs.
- Cash handling
- Collecting taxi contributions towards transportation.
- Manage volunteers who support groups ensuring that they have clarity about their role and are offered relevant training.
- Responsible for the coordination of group related volunteers.
- To submit monitoring reports for funding purposes on a regular basis.

Part-time hours: 24 per week

£14,500.00 per year
