About the Role:


Tiptree Medical Centre is looking to recruit a proactive and experienced receptionist to join their team on a part-time basis, with the exact hours to be decided in discussion.

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out general receptionist duties which will include:

  • Dealing with general telephone enquiries
  • Booking appointments
  • Welcoming patients into the branch in a timely and professional manner
  • Actioning tasks to reception team & daily brief meeting
  • Processing registrations and temporary residents

All applicant should:
- have a good standard of education, including maths and English;
- have experience of working in, and providing, customer service;
- have experience of working within a receptionist role, ideally within primary care;
- demonstrate a professional manner at all times;
- have strong IT skills and be able to use computer based systems;
- have experience of SystmOne, ideally, but this is not essential as training will be provided;
- be organised;
- have strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing, be able to communicate with internal staff as well as external agencies and patients, and have a strong understanding of confidentiality;
- be able to work effectively within a team as well as being able to work independently, without supervision.


About Us:

The Colte Partnership is an at scale-partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approximately 98,000 patients.

With our combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.


As well as general practice, we offer centrally organised extended access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and social prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.

We also work as three collaborative primary care networks (PCNs) which span across Colchester and Tendring:

  • Ambrose Avenue Group Practice, Riverside Medical Centre & Ardleigh Surgery
  • Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre & Rowhedge Medical Centre
  • Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre & Wivenhoe Medical Centre
There is a wide socio-economic demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case-mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
