I'm a 30 year old man looking for a PA/Carer, 40 hours a week, to help me live my life to the fullest on a daily basis.

I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy so I have no movement from my neck down.

I can only move my hands slightly and fingertips, I use a wheelchair full time which I get transferred to and from on a daily basis using a hoist.

The job would require you to do everything for me; general daily tasks such as getting out of bed, getting dressed, having a wash, brushing my teeth, combing my hair, assisting me with eating and drinking, administering my medication, personal care so assisting me to and from the toilet and ensuring that I have no pressure sores.

Days and times are as follows; Monday 11am to 6pm, Wednesday 12.30pm to 6.30pm, Friday 11am to 8pm, Saturday 11am to 1pm and Sunday 11am to 3pm.

Prior experience as a carer or knowledge of manual handling are not required because training will be provided, as long as you are open and willing to learn how I want my care received there won't be a problem.

Applicants must have a full clean driving license, because I have a wheelchair accessible van and I like to get out and about in it.

The van is easy to drive with it being automatic and it's high visibility.

In December 2019 I graduated from university with a masters in documentary production.

However, during the first lockdown I took a slight change of direction in my career I became a podcaster with my own platform, I make podcasts about music, music history and generally positive vibes.

I am now in the process of evolving my platform into a fully rounded freelance production company making videos for people, wedding videos, corporate promotional videos and self commissioned documentaries, as well as DJaying.

A big part of the job would be to support me with my work and assist me setting up and using the equipment, basically you would be an extension of me (my arms).

Salary:
£14.00 per hour
