REED Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a brilliant organisation in the heart of Belfast City Centre who have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Finance Officer to join their team.
This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid working, a competitive salary and a happy working environment.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for the reconciliation of key account controls, will assist with the preparation of management accounts, will manage payroll processes and will issue invoices as required tofunders on a monthly / quarterly basis.
More specific duties will involve:
Payroll using Sage Payroll 50 for approximately staff, ensuring payments to HMRC, Pension provider, GAYE, and union are accurate and timely
Reconciling staff timesheets to post sheet for claims, and salary processing
Ensure payments are received in a timely manner and chase up any outstanding monies owed
Issue invoices as required to funders on a monthly/quarterly basis
Support Programme Managers to produce Claims to Funders Monthly /Quarterly as required - and provide backup material as requested by Funders
Process income cash book postings for all sites
Ensure Accounting Systems are maintained, working in partnership with Accounting System Supplier
Prepare and post journals to the accounting system for preparation of Management Accounts including Salaries and preparing salary allocation spreadsheet
Assist in the preparation of Management Accounts - Quarterly / Year End
Inputting of Budget to Accounting System
Providing information for external/internal auditors
Timely Reconciliation of Key Account Controls
Act as backup for processing of Creditors/VAT to cover periods of absence
Setting up of new accounts in SAGE 200 package
Supervision of Creditors/Facilitator Officer ensuring the flow of work required is prioritised
Any other relevant duties as required by the Finance & Corporate Services Manager
Daily use of Sage 200 software
The Person:
Applicants will meet the following criteria:
A minimum of 2 years' experience of Sage Line 50 payroll
A relevant book-keeping or accountancy qualification
At least 5 GCSEs including Maths (or equivalent)
Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
Experience of working to a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to supervise to ensure the workflow is prioritised
