QUALIFICATIONS

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in relevant trade (Essential)
  • SSSTS Health and Safety (Desirable)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (Essential)

EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years' experience of supervising of maintenance repairs/project works (Essential)
  • 3+ years line management experience (Essential)
  • 5+ years relevant trade experience (Desirable)
We are seeking a conscientious, enthusiastic, and experienced individual with a can-do attitude and can-do approach. Applicants must have a strong background in maintenance and repairs as a supervisor or manager. The Lead Supervisor must always maintain a professional appearance and attitude and be polite and courteous.


SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Possess interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels in a professional manner being able to challenge and be challenged.
  • Have an organised approach to work and time management.
  • Able to use MS office software and the Job Management system.
  • Able to record information in the field, identify trends and recurrent issues
  • Be a team player by understanding what it is to be part of a team sharing experiences and learning.
  • Be able to deal with time pressures to deliver works to schedule
  • Proactive in identifying your development needs and doing something to overcome them.
  • Be able to selfmanage and be selfmotivated, prioritising work and have a desire to solve problems.
  • Have knowledge of the materials and methods used in the construction/maintenance industry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage WIP with the Service Manager including supporting sourcing required resource, programming, and scoping work to meet service level agreement and ensuring FES and the Scheduler are kept updated.
  • To ensure Supervisors are carrying out the full scope of works required, including ordering materials, completing repairs in a timely manner and handing back properties on time.
  • Take the lead & build the relationships with the clients by liaising with them to keep them up to date with the overall delivery of the works and how these are progressing.
  • Always understand and enforce a positive health and safety culture through training, audits, and site visits. Including taking a lead on compliance and safety audits
  • Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
  • Ensure that all subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes and working to their RAMS.
  • Line management of Supervisors and take the lead on recruitment, induction, and development
  • Ensure there is the right number and skillset available of own trades and subcontractors to deliver the works, including working with the Service Manager to plan for peaks in demand
  • Support, train and develop the trades and subcontractors in their technical ability, safety, customer service and organisational ability including management of the skills & training matrixes
  • To ensure trades are always working efficiently and effectively, through managing productivity and resolving issues.
  • Proactively manage subcontractor performance and build partnering relationships with subcontractors to ensure long term effective relationships
  • Source and induct new subcontractors where required
  • Source specialist materials / plant /subcontractors for unusual works where Helpdesk/trades/Supervisors

  • To drive and lead improvement projects to achieve and exceed Industry Best Practise in quality, safety, technical, service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Support client reporting requirements
  • Be a part of the out of hours Managers rota, providing technical assistance and support for the operatives or the client
  • Deputise for the Contract Manager when required
