The Recipe
Working with the Gluten Free bakery but as part of the Warburtons Centre Quality team based at our head office facility, you'll deliver sustainable improvements for existing products, as well as collaborating with wider business functions where appropriate.
The Role
- Lead projects within Quality Strategy workstreams & support wider business quality activity coordinated to facilitate the delivery of the Unbeatable Quality delivery strategy.
- Provide technical expertise to the bakery above site capability to support product improvement / changes to recipe in line with business requirements and that measurement processes are in place to ensure the product meets legislative and quality standardsand requirements.
- Deliver technical expertise to support business growth by working in partnership with ingredient suppliers, Centre functions, Innovation and 3rd parties. To ensure investigations into new equipment and processes are documented Findings and recommendationsare made to the relevant departments.
- Ensure raw materials and processes are reviewed in line with business requirements, working in our purpose built test bakery to undertake evaluations to direct and guide product and ingredient improvements.
- To support the procurement function of the business in optimising raw material performance and quality against controlling and managing costs
Essential Ingredients
- Significant evidence of working within a technical bakery role, within a food manufacturer.
- Experience of introduction of innovative processes and technologies.
- Science based background at least a food / baking / technical qualification or equivalent experience
- Project management skills and experience
- IT & PC Knowledge
- Commercial awareness: understanding of cost of manufacturing and quality; understanding cost benefit analysis.
- Industry knowledge: Understanding of raw materials; up to date on latest process techniques; up to date and knowledgeable on latest ingredients and engineering technology.
- Excellent communication skills: influencing and motivating teams, directly, indirectly and remotely; persuasive; impactful verbal and written skills;
- Excellent relationship builder
- Strong team player able to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Decisive
- Experience of delivering training and coaching either on a group or one to one basis.
