Recruit 2 You are excited to announce our newest vacancy based in Derby We are currently working with a specialist engineering company based in Derby, DE21 who provide expertise in the design, manufacturing, and delivery of composite products, and tooling.

Currently, our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join our dynamic Quality Department.


Your responsibilities as the new Quality Inspector:

  • Performing first off, stage and final inspection.
  • Visually inspect components for surface defects
  • Recommend rejections, rework, or retest.
  • Interpret engineer drawings.
  • Creating NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Control a Scrap register.
  • Produce FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports).
  • Use manual measuring equipment.
  • Maintain records.
  • Communication within the manufacturing departments.
  • Support the continuing 5S and LEAN Manufacturing activities
  • First Article Inspection reports

Essential skills as the new successful Quality Inspector:

  • Good Team worker
  • Cando attitude
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, and on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Must have a solid work history within quality inspection of machined parts.
  • Interpret engineer drawings.
  • Conduct Internal Audits for QMS.
  • Internal Calibration of hand Gauges and update calibration database.
  • Polyworks software experience.
  • Experience with operating a 7Axis Romer Arm.

Desired Skills/Experience
of the new Quality Inspector:

  • Knowledge of composites and how composite components are manufactured.
  • Basic knowledge of the makeup of race cars and road cars.
  • A minimum of 2 years working within the F1/Motorsport/Automotive industry.
