As a global multi-disciplinary consultancy, The Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T) Division within Atkins is at the leading edge of Defence support and is currently recruiting for a
Senior Integrated Product Support Consultant.

Atkins offers a range of independent and unbiased advice in engineering, technical and strategic advisory services to a wide breadth of markets and clients.

We have multiple Integrated Product Support Consultant opportunities with an understanding of the Aerospace & Defence and wider Markets to provide guidance and direction in the development of Integrated Product Support solutions for our clients, including:

  • ASD and Defence Standards.
  • Support to client manager and sales.
  • Assurance of work undertaken by Client project teams.
  • Providing a vision of future needs to support the development of our broad capability including areas such as Digital Twin, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Leadership of major Integrated Product Support assignments for clients.


You will be working with our clients to deliver diverse Integrated Product Support projects, covering anything from implementing innovative uses of new technology, formulating national guidance, providing strategic direction and leadership for Integrated Product Support policy and using data and analysis tools to develop works programmes.

Who are we looking for?
Integrated Product Support is wide-ranging and diverse amalgamation of skillsets.

At Atkins, we recognise that we need to grow and develop in these areas; therefore, we are looking for experienced Integrated Product Support practitioners with knowledge and experience in domains such as Defence and Aerospace with a sound understanding of Defence, ASD or ISO standards such as Def Stan 00-040, 00-045, 00-600, ASD S3000L, S4000P.


Key Requirements:


_ Integrated Product Support Essential Criteria -_
As a Principal Integrated Product Support Consultant, it is Critical that you are a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in and have considerable experience in most of the following:

  • Experience working with DE&S /Delivery Teams across all domains. Background in Supportability/ Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) at Desk Officer/ ILS Manager / SNCO level or similar appropriate roles.
  • Knowledge of the Defence, Aerospace and wider markets, or major contractor's experience.
  • Excellent understanding of appropriate Defence Standards or ASD Standards, such as Def Stan 00600, Knowledge in Defence (KiD), Defence Logistic Framework (DLF) or S3000L / S4000P etc.
  • Accomplished Practitioner within Integrated Product Support (IPS) with a sound understanding of the MOD Acquisition Process and activities.
  • Knowledge, awareness and ability to generate compliant Supportability Cases.
  • Experience or Awareness in the compilation / maintenance of LSAR databases or LIRs.

Desirable Criteria:

As a Principal Integrated Product Support Consultant,
it is desirable that you will have in depth experience and knowledge of:

  • Integrated Product Support / Asset Management standards (ASD/ISO used in Industry.
  • Development of Integrated Support Plans and ILS element Plans.
  • The Supply Chain in relation to supportability and sustainment.
  • How we can exploit asset information.
  • Developing Supportability Strategies in support of MOD Acquisition.
  • How Supportability Analysis fits into Asset Management.
  • Engaging with Customers and Suppliers for establishing requirements for Supportability Analysis.
  • In most of the following: FMECA, MTA, LORA, RCA and Ranging and Scaling Modelling.
  • Compiling or managing the Support Solution Development Tool (SSDT) for the approvals process.
  • R&M Modelling, Analysis, Trials and Management, Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) preferably Aladon or MSG3 trained.
  • Development of Supportability User & System Requirements.
  • Developing written proposals and providing technical assurance on others work.
  • Manage and motivate project teams through strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Staff development in technical skills and reporting experience for team members.
  • Build sustainable relationships with customers and developing and winning business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the role, including the preparation and presentation of reports to both internal and external customers.
