As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure the best value and quality for our company.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, monitor market trends, and manage supplier relationships to optimize procurement processes and meet our business objectives.

This is a key role that requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What can you bring to Banham?
Your ability and experience of being able to balance workload between tactical and strategic activities will ensure you are able to deliver on the following:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet the company's objectives for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research, and evaluate supplier capabilities and offerings.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers, while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and specifications.
  • Analyze purchase requisitions, create purchase orders, and ensure timely and accurate order placement.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with the supply chain, including potential disruptions or changes in market conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, pricing, and supplier contracts.
  • Work closely with the receiving and quality control teams to ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment issues.

It would be great if you had the following too

  • Qualification in Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Preferred but not essential your experience is key)
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the Fire & Security sector (not essential)
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
