Hours: 40 hours per week. The nature of Redthread's work and this role means that regular evening and weekend work is required to cover a safeguarding on-call rota (typically one late shift per week till 9 pm and one-weekend on-call every six weeks).

Purpose of the Post

  • To lead on the daytoday delivery of Redthread's portfolio of services, driving an inclusive and supportive culture and ensuring that the needs of young people, staff, partners, communities, funders, and evaluators are fully considered and that Redthread is well placed to achieve its vision.
  • Lead the operational development, mobilisation, performance and delivery of Redthread's youth work services. Ensuring that these services are of the highest quality, demonstrate impact, and empower young people to thrive as they navigate the challenging transition to adulthood.
  • Lead development and innovation in service delivery based on evidence, evaluation, and young people's insights. Working closely with the Director of Services.
  • To sit within Redthread's leadership team, contributing to organisationwide strategic planning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead development and innovation in service delivery based on evidence, evaluation, and young people's insights. Working closely with the Director of Services.
  • Oversee effective and consistent delivery, performance, and quality assurance across all Redthread services, working with the Director of Services and other leaders to enhance and develop the offer.
  • Line manage a team of Programme Managers. Providing daytoday thorough support, advice, and direction in what can be a challenging working environment to create a highperforming organisation built on a culture of high trust, high expectations, and continual improvement.
  • Responsible for staff appraisals, performance improvement, and disciplinary issues.
  • Focus on continuous service improvement, ensuring that new technologies are embraced and support new ways of working.
  • Provide visible, credible and effective leadership offering creative and insightful solutions to critical issues and advise other leadership team members accordingly.
  • Be accountable for oversight of risk management. Analyse potential risks and devise and implement appropriate risk mitigation plans, with consideration for safeguarding, staff wellbeing and data protection issues.
  • Contribute to Redthread's Safeguarding provision under the guidance of the Director of Services. Actively contribute to the quarterly safeguarding review to ensure ongoing organisational learning.
  • Act as a Designated Safeguarding Officer for Redthread. Taking the lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection issues, providing advice and support to staff, liaising with Local Authorities and various other agencies and arranging adequate and appropriate cover arrangements for any leave or outofhours activities.
  • Promote a positive team dynamic to support staff wellbeing, high morale, and excellent performance.
  • Lead recruitment and staff performance for those engaged in service delivery and support programme managers with HR issues.
  • Ensure that all contractual agreements, SLAs, MOUs, and SOPs are effectively considered and assessed, and that service delivery of all contracts and Grants are monitored so it is consistent with the relevant agreement.
  • Manage and develop strategic relationships with partners, and oversee projects, to enhance the delivery of services across the region.
  • Develop of strategic relationships with partners and stakeholders to enhance the delivery of services across the country and to develop service delivery in line with our strategic ambitions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the NHS, The Police, Social Care other Statutory partners and other stakeholders, to enhance service delivery and promote collaboration.
  • Contribute to strategic development activities internally and externally, including representing the Services team at leadership and Trustee meetings.
  • Represent Redthread at external meetings and events, develop and deliver appropriate training and presentations in a variety of contexts, and work alongside the communications and policy managers on media opportunities.
  • Oversee the efficient collection and management of robust data and information, undertaking regular analysis to inform the development and reporting to stakeholders and funders.
  • Provide monthly performance reports against agreed KPIs to the LeadershipTeam and support the Director of Services in writing quarterly reports to the Board of Trustees.
