Job overview:

We are pleased to be recruiting into a full-time, permanent Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Neuropsychologist post.

We can appoint at band 7 or band 8a and it is a full time (37.5 hours) role, although we are happy to discuss part-time working.

At a Trust level, we ask that applicants have completed at least the first year of the PGDip in Neuropsychology to be considered for an 8a position.

If appointed at band 7, support would be given to complete a recognised Clinical Neuropsychology course to obtain the knowledge component of the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.


Main duties of the job:


The Salford Community Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Team (CSNRT) is a welcoming, ambitious and enthusiastic team with a wealth of expertise, making it a great place to work.

There is a focus on multi-disciplinary working and goal setting with an aim to achieve the best outcomes with the patients, and their support and care systems.

You would be joining a neuropsychology team that consists of a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, three Clinical Psychologists/Clinical Neuropsychologists and two Assistant Psychologists with professional links to the wider neuropsychology department at Salford Royal and across other neuro rehabilitation services in Greater Manchester.

There are weekly CPD sessions within the service, and monthly in the neuropsychology department. We have links with three of the local Doctorates in Clinical Psychology to offer teaching and placements as required.

Person specification:


Knowledge/Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Considerable previous experience clinical work in a clinical neuropsychology setting
  • Prior experience of service development.
  • Previous experience of providing line management and clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologists.
  • Prior experience of multidisciplinary team (MDT) working

Desirable criteria:


  • Proven previous experience working in a neuropsychology department affiliated to a Neuroscience centre
  • Previous experience of working in community stroke and/or neuro setting
  • Prior experience of research activity.

Qualifications:


Essential criteria:


  • Honours Degree in Psychology
  • Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology

Desirable criteria:


  • Academic qualification such as Diploma or MSc in Research Methodology or PhD.
  • Partial completion (50%) of accredited clinical neuropsychology course
  • Additional qualification or training in specific psychological approach

Registration:


Essential criteria:


  • Eligibility for membership of the British Psychological Society and Division of Clinical Psychology is required.
  • HCPC Registration
