This role will be a full-time permanent position based at our customer site in Slough, the site will be moving to Windlesham UK in the near future.

A full driving license and owning a vehicle are highly preferred.


As a Logistics Support Operative for Avantor, you will be responsible for managing the flow of stock in the Laboratory environment, among other tasks.


Working hours:
Monday-Friday: Core hours

What we're looking for

  • High school or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a stores environment is highly desirable. This can be in hospitality, retail, or general warehouse stockrooms
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment and Knowledge of SHE requirements in a laboratory environment is desirable but not essential
  • Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)

  • Are you a "gogetter" who enjoys manual work and is somewhat aware of stock management procedures, with an interest in science?
  • Do you already live in the Slough or can easily commute into the city
  • Do you have a driving license and own a vehicle
  • Are you comfortable working in customercentric environments

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Provide regular glassware and plastics collection, washing, and, sterilisation services (steam, dry, or filtration) for the scientists to use within the laboratories.
  • Preparations of media and standard reagents as required and maintain stocks of both sterile and nonsterile consumable items within the laboratories.
  • Assist the scientific personnel, carry out routine cleaning and performance checking of equipment (pH meters and balances) keeping accurate results of work.
  • To protect the integrity of research activities, regularly check chemical and reagent expiry dates and arrange disposal of any outofdate material via the correct waste disposal route.
  • Receive and process ad hoc deliveries ensuring storage at the correct temperatures
