Description
Our Local Government client is seeking a forward thinking, ambitious and customer centric Payroll Manager to join their team.

The role will oversee a payroll team of four, leading in the payroll delivery for high volume employees across two boroughs.


Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Lead the team including 1:1s, appraisals, training and development
  • Leading operational and strategic improvements of the payroll function
  • Responsible for the implementation of a variety of corporate projects
  • Offering an advisory service to senior managers and councillors on complex legislative issues, providing business intelligence to meet operational requirements.
  • Identifying areas for improvement across the payroll function and system
  • Operating the Oracle Fusion ERP system

Experience required:


  • Strong people management experience at Payroll Manager level
  • Experience within the public sector ideally local government
  • Oracle Fusion experience is desirable
  • Experience of system improvement and project work
