The Company


My client is a process engineering specialist who design and manufacture turnkey process solutions for clients in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and materials handling amongst other industries.

The company have a trading history that dates back over 200 years and a senior management and directorship team who are all home grown from within the business.


The company employs more than 300 staff of which over 150 are employed in professional engineering roles (many of whom are chartered engineers) across software, process, electrical and mechanical disciplines.

The company are experienced huge growth in capital projects won and have grown from £25 million to £80 million in a four-year period with plans to be up to £150 million business by 2024.


Due to their expansion, they are looking to recruit an Inbound Materials Coordinator to join their rapidly expanding planning division.


The Role


The Inbound Materials Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all materials required for manufacturing are on order in due time to meet manufacturing plans.

They will also update this information within the system when materials are not available as expected.


The role will involve:

  • Taking BOMs for manufacturing projects to understand materials that need to be ordered
  • Identifying lead times on parts required (sheets of steel, valves, machined parts, flanges, electrical cables, PLCs)
  • An Engineer creates a materials sheet for a project.
  • The Inbound Materials Coordinator then obtains quotes and lead times for materials
  • The Inbound Materials Coordinator then updates the system with amendments to material availability
  • They then raise purchase orders on suppliers
  • They also chase supplies for acknowledgment of receipts of order and follows up for expected delivery dates
