£24,759.00 rising to £26,356.00 on completion of probation period
- Shifts: Days for first 13 weeks then the shift pattern will fllow, 07.00 to 19.00 and 19.00 to days 2 nights four off)
- Hours per week: Average 39hour week, plus occasional paid overtime

- Position Summary
- This is an exciting/excellent career opportunity and a rare chance to be considered for a role where you can utilise your technical experience in delivering maintenance support to the fleet to ensure vehicle availability in line with Fleet needs and requirements.
- A skilled Materials Controller, you will have previous experience of undertaking Materials Management, effectively delegating tasks to your colleagues, where required, enabling you to record WIP, parts availability and delays, units nearing completion and issues requiring your attention.
- Adhere to health and safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards. Comply with all instructions, rules and regulations in force
- Mentor and guide
- Support your Engineering Management Colleagues in making essential engineering decisions that may affect the availability of the fleet
- Ensure all relevant paperwork for parts and materials availability is correctly completed on time and to required company standards
- Support your Senior Manager in managing the Stores System and providing support to other Sites/Depots where required
- You will be physically fit and healthy, you will be required to undertake a NWR related medical and drugs & alcohol test plus CRB check which must be passed before any offer can be made. You will have a good sense of humour and be prepared to work outdoors where required. You will ideally have a full (clean) driving license and be flexible enough to travel to other local sites in the region from time to time
- Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs or AlcoholQualifications:
- Time Served or relevant Stores/Materials Management Qualification/Degree
- NVQ Level 1/2 or equivalent in a related skill set desirable
- Experience essential with relevant experience and success in a previous role superseding the need for qualificationsContact Information:
