The Digital Ventures team has a single mission - "to help everyone in the Renewables business to access and use the digital tools and services they need to be able to fly".

We do this by driving cultural change towards a Digital first mindset, providing access to advanced data services, and a taking a disruptive approach to innovation.

Our entrepreneurial attitude is what sets us apart and allows us to try what others may fear to.

As a Technical Delivery Lead within Digital Services, you will play an active role in the full life cycle of solutions.

Working with the wider Digital Ventures team and with their partner organisations, you will oversee, advise, and if needed be embedded in delivery teams to design and build out Azure native solutions.

In doing this, you will ensure the quality of deliverables and take accountability for resolving blockers and impediments.

Your remit will include standardising the approach taken to support initiatives from the use of Azure DevOps through to the required documentation and operational support processes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and support of DevOps methods within the team. You will bring best practice, advice, and your technical Azure experience to the team around ways of working, building capability, and using the correct tools for the job.
  • Minimising business risk when delivering change via the validation and verification of technical outputs through the QA and test processes and via liaison with security assurance.
  • Being adaptable to working across multiple delivery contexts regardless of the delivery method and driver, and embrace working towards an outcome. Collaboration is key, as is taking accountability for endtoend delivery and with any interfaces into centralised IT teams.
  • Continually looking for opportunities to improve the team, services, and solutions you have accountability for and to bring in efficiencies around approaches to delivery and/or the technologies and tools being used. You must be willing to push the boundaries and if necessary, fail fast.
  • Assisting in showcases, proof of concepts, requirements gathering and validation, collaborating with product owners to agree backlogs, and providing estimates of delivery effort to inform team planning and prioritisation.

What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Extensive experience working in IT with relevant experience leading, designing, delivering, and supporting native cloud-based solutions. Backed by MS Azure and practitioner-based qualifications and references.
  • A solid working knowledge of CI/CD practices, the use of Azure DevOps or an equivalent tooling, with evidence to show both in successful cloud deliveries.
  • Competent in a broad range of technologies sufficient to advise and guide and be able to understand and input into decision making across the solution life cycle.
  • Must be willing to take on accountability and deliver against it, regardless of the outcome and in with that goal, be pragmatic, not process driven.
  • Must be a personable team player with experience working in a matrix organisation who is willing to play any role in delivering an outcome and be willing to challenge the status quo in an appropriate and grounded manner.
