Materials Controller - London, United Kingdom - Knightwood Associates Ltd

My client is a busy and well established
medium sized residential developer who have just started a brand new development in East London.
June/July 2023. The scheme is
140 new build apartments, project completion date is Feb 2025.
Details of the role are as follows:
- Current or previous experience as a materials controller / logistics background
- Construction knowledge of materials that they will be scheduling, ie bricks, brickwork support, stone cills, timbers, doors etc is required.
- IT literacy is essential, as the person will need to call off materials, produce trackers and produce and issue delivery logs/schedules to suppliers/subcontractors daily
- Responsible for working closely with the Crane Supervisor, to produce daily lifting logs of materials arriving and scheduling in deliveries/lifts of the company materials, and those from subcontractors which will be booked in via the materials controller/coordinator
- Working closely with the gate operatives to ensure deliveries are arriving on schedule, and diverted where necessary when out of sequence / schedule
- Responsible for reviewing material deliveries, to ensure delivery tickets are signed correctly, and raised accordingly where damaged or missing goods are noted.
- Responsible for calling off skip exchanges
- Responsible for issuing out provided protection to subcontractors, and ensuring this is signed for and accounted for accordingly
- Responsible for raising orders to the Project Manager for approval for welfare consumables
- A proactive approach to health and safety, and ensuring site rules are adhered to at all times, in addition to maintaining site presentation required.
- A must have approach to working as part of a team.
- Saturdays may be required until 1pm.
£22 an hour CIS is available as well as PAYE if that would be preferable
