Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controller


Alexander Daniels have been exclusively retained by a market leading manufacturing business to help them recruit an experienced Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controller.

The Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controller will report into the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for the Finance systems, implementing new processes, controls and reporting output of the business.

The Senior Management Accountant /Financial Controller will also be Business partnering with Managing Directors and other Stakeholders. The position sits between a couple of sites based in Kidderminster and Worcester.

The Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controller will be responsiblefor the preparation of the monthly financial accounts, reconciliations, provision of detailed variance analysis and monthly finance report, ensuring that all Group deadlines are met and presenting the finance results to the management team on a monthly basis.

You will be managing, training and developing a team of 4 finance staff

The Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controllers principal accountabilities & key responsibilities will include, but not limited, to the following:

  • Statutory and Group financial processes and reporting
  • Group monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines for all financial aspects
  • Forecast and reconcile company cash flow receipts and payments, including FX requirements weekly and monthly
  • Management of the Accounts Receivable and Payable functions to include Credit Control
  • Monthly preparing forecast profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flows.
  • Preparation and submission of Regulatory reports to HMRC and ONS on monthly, quarterly, half year and annual basis.
  • To be fully understanding of VAT issues that may affect any business activities and prepare and submit VAT returns, PAYE returns and any other HMRC reporting
  • Leading Yearly Statutory Audits and quarterly stakeholder audits
  • Control of the fixed asset register, capex, disposals and depreciation in line with group policy
  • Development and maintenance of the company's new ERP system
  • Engagement with all elements of the operational business contributing to the longterm commercial development of the company, including the identification of revenue opportunities, cost reduction or efficiency and risk avoidance.
  • Provide training and coach and mentor team members
  • Completing and implementing a new Standard Costing System to help with Stock Valuation in conjunction with the new ERP system.
  • To undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post and participate as necessary in corporate initiatives and projects

The successful Senior Management Accountant / Financial Controller will have the following attributes:


Knowledge:


  • Available immediately or short notice and have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
  • Working knowledge of introduction of new processes and procedures
  • Experience working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Strong IT skills especially Excel, EFACS would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong Cost Accounting Skills

Qualifications:


  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified accountant
**Salary on offer for the successful individual is between £45,000 to £55,000 dependant on experience + benefits
