About the role
UW saves customers time and money on their household bills by providing all their home services in one place - one account, one app and one simple monthly bill

To deliver on this promise, we need to make sure we're delivering a high quality experience across each of the services we provide to our customers and we need to ensure we manage all the complexities of each of these services behind the scenes so our customers don't have to


That's where our Head of Product - Home Services comes in to be responsible for making sure that each of our individual services provides good value for money and a simple, easy to manage experience to our customers.


We rely on word of mouth recommendations to grow our business so it's critical that our Customers and Partners love the services we offer.


What you'll do

  • Owning the product strategy for Home Services to ensure we're delivering a top quality product experience across our Energy, Broadband, Mobile, Insurance and Cashback Card services
  • Supporting the team in maintaining a roadmap that delivers on our promise of saving customers time and money on their household bills
  • Working with the team to identify synergies across the services and ways to make the whole UW experience greater than the sum of the parts
  • Understanding the market trends and context for each service and ensuring we are keeping pace with customer expectations
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape for each of our services to keep us ahead of future changes
  • Working closely with Engineering, UX Design and Marketing leads to make sure everyone is pulling in the same direction
  • Working closely with our Commercial directors for each industry to ensure we are delivering business value
  • Managing a team of 5 Senior Product Managers and Product Leads (and a total team of 13 product people) who are each responsible for different parts of our service portfolio
  • Ensuring we're clear on the outcomes we're trying to achieve and are owning, measuring and sharing key product metrics, impacts and learnings
  • Supporting your team in taking a lean, datadriven approach to prioritising and delivering maximum customer and business value
  • Making suggestions for improvements to the way we utilise data and UX in order to improve understanding of customers, their behaviour, what exactly they value, and what is valuable to the business

About you

  • A passion for understanding real people and their problems
  • Handson experience with agile software development and broad product management experience to draw on
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing Senior Product people
  • Experience working with products in regulated industries ideally in utilities
  • Can personally, and by helping others, develop ideas and solutions based on real insight
  • Outcome not deliveryfocussed
  • Commerciallyaware and comfortable with backof the envelope calculations and spreadsheets
  • Obsess over the details but also love to paint a bigger picture
  • Know your strengths, and recognise there's always more to learn
  • An empathetic team player who collaborates closely with others
  • Embrace iteration and are comfortable with change
