Project Coordinator (VSNW's Answer Cancer)
Voluntary Sector North West (VSNW) is the regional voluntary sector network for the North West.

Our aim is to ensure the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, in all its diversity, takes its full part in shaping the future of the North West.

As part of this, we now need a Project Coordinator to deliver our Answer Cancer Project plan.


Salary:
£27,056.00 per annum

Working hours: 28 Hours per week (0.8 FTE)

(FTE equivalent NJC Points 27:
£33,820 per annum pro rata)

7% pension contribution (with 1% contribution by employee)

25 days holiday plus bank holiday (pro rata)

The role is fixed term for 12 months in the first instance, pending 6 month probation review. Funding to extend this role is under negotiation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Purpose


To project manage and coordinate the Answer Cancer (AC) Programme of VSNW, ensuring that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved on time.

The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Operations Manager and coordinate:


  • Performance report
  • Champions' activities
  • Communications work
  • The work pledge
  • Answer Cancer events
Reporting Responsibility

The post holder will report to and be managed by the Operations Manager of VSNW.


Principal Duties

  • To project manage and coordinate the Answer Cancer work of VSNW.
  • To recruit and contract manage sub-contractors of the project in order to deliver our Key Performance Indicators.
  • To work in line with the VSNW AC budget plan, ensure financial procedure is followed and that spending is in line with the budget.
  • Working alongside the VSNW Communications Lead, to develop the Answer Cancer brand, generate high quality digital and print publicity and communications content and to ensure the content of the Answer Cancer website, social media channels and other platforms up to date.
  • Working closely with sub-contracting VCSE Organisations on campaign work.
  • Develop a detailed project delivery plan with Operations Manager, to ensure effective team working approach is also put in place with support from Admin Officer and Communications Lead.
  • To manage the Answer Cancer database and data, in line with the VSNW policies on privacy and data protection.
  • To coordinate and analyse feedback, surveys and questionnaires from champions and stakeholders.
  • To coordinate and lead on the production of quarterly and annual performance reports.
  • To coordinate the circulation and distribution of regular training opportunities, quizzes, communications and newsletter to the programme stakeholders.
  • To attend regular Answer Cancer Partners meetings, collaborate with other Answer Cancer delivery partners, to maximise opportunity of engagement activities and training for champions.
  • To coordinate cancer champion appreciation and other events for the VSNW's Answer Cancer.
  • Representing VSNW to attend events and meetings for the programme.

General

  • To promote and uphold the values of VSNW at all times.
  • To continuously develop and share knowledge within key partnerships and the VSNW team.
  • At all times to take account of equal opportunities considerations when working with the VCSE; paying particular attention to the needs and perspectives of groups and communities who are marginalised or excluded from participation in subregional governance.
  • To be a co-operative and supportive member of the VSNW staff team, ensuring that all members are aware of any issues in the post holder's workload which may impact on other staff or partners
  • To listen to and engage North West VCSE partners to be active members of VSNW.
  • To produce reports for the VSNW Board of Trustees as required.
  • To observe all policies and procedures that are determined by VSNW's Board of Trustees, e.g. Health & Safety, New Technology.
  • To undertake regular supervision with your line manager and to keep her or him informed of significant developments in the progress of work.
  • To undertake such tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Chief Executive and Operations Manager of VSNW to further the objects of the organisation in alignment with its values.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- = Essential criteria


Experience in/of:
- *At least 2-year project coordination or management.
- *Contract negotiation, development and management.
- *Performance report writing.
- *Implementation of website, other online and tech platforms.
- *Use of database.
- *Generate high quality and innovative communications content.
- *Organising high quality conferences and events.

  • Broad experience and understanding of the VCSE sector.
Skills, knowledge and abilities
