Search Consultancy are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join a fast paced Adults Learning Disabilities team, based in Gloucester.

The team has a supportive and engaged management structure including an integrated Social Care Manager, DeputySocial Care Manager, Social Work Leads, Social Care Lead, Senior Social Worker, Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners and an administration team.

This Senior Social Worker role could be the perfect next step in your career; with this role offering you more challenge and complexity, without the added management responsibility.

We look to our Senior Social Workers to provide expert social work practicein complex situations, assessing and managing higher levels of risk.

You will work closely with a range of professionals and more senior managers to ensure a balance of support and independence is achieved, through offering expert evidence based opinion.

Duties will Include:

  • Carry overall responsibility for the management of a caseload, acting as a care coordinator, as defined by the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
  • Deliver effective care and treatment that is carried out within a multidisciplinary framework and in collaboration with other agencies.
  • Safeguarding work
  • Undertaking care act assessments
  • Support planning and reviews
  • Mental Capacity work
  • Involve service users and their Carers, in planning care that includes all their individual and diverse needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with your responsibilities as laid out in the council's equal opportunity policy and take an active role in promoting equality and diversity.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating evidencebased programmes of care and standards of care and liaising with other agencies, particularly in relation to people discharged under the Care Programme Approach.
  • Ensuring that a risk assessment is completed for service users, especially if there is a history of, or a potential for risk.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Have completed your ASYE
  • 2 years postqualified experience
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK licence
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Have up to date knowledge of legislation and demonstrable experience of providing credible approaches to practice
