Associate Director, International Medical Communications
Reports to:
Director of Medical Affairs
Location:
Zug, Switzerland, or remote within the UK and Europe
Position Summary:
The International Associate Director of Medical Communications in Medical Affairs is a key member of the European medical affairs team who will work closely with cross functional partners including commercial, market access, clinical development, regulatory, and to develop and execute Regional Medical Communication plan for the ophthalmology and pipeline programs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Support implementation of MA strategy through development and execution of Medical Communication Plan to drive the MA objectives
- Identify specific communication gaps, collaborating with the cross functional teams on appropriate mechanisms for impactful communications
- Lead the cross functional Medical Communications team to ensure appropriate review of Medical Publications and Communication resources to Regional stakeholders
- Collaborate with EU Medical Directors, Field Medical, Global Medical to ensure resources are available at appropriate times throughout launch preparation
- Lead congress activities in region and support respective affiliates
- Oversee and conduct EU KOL engagement activities like Advisory Board meetings
- Implement and oversee Regional Medical Information activities
Education, Registration & Certification:
- Must have a MD, PhD or Pharm D degree or equivalent
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience working in medical affairs in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- 3+ years in communication role
- Agency management experience optional
- Significant experience across drug development stages particularly in latestage development, launch, and postapproval settings
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to lead a crossfunctional team, and influence at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation.
- Ability to work independently and with flexibility to handle work flow in a fastpaced environment.
- Travel will be required, up to 30%.
