Finance Officer to work full-time within the school finance team. The role is for 37.5 hrs per week all year round.
Reporting to the Director of Finance as part of the Finance Department, initial responsibilities will include:

Purchase Ledger:
- Processing of purchase requisitions, chasing up orders and managing deliveries;
- Processing of invoices including coding up, checking for authorisation to pay etc.
Cash Management:
- Processing of petty cash claims;
- Preparing the takings for banking
- Bank reconciliation.
Managing the Hiring Out of School Facilities:
- Taking enquiries about hiring the schools facilities from the general public
- Costing up potential hirings, issuing invoices and following up for payment
- Dealing with any queries arising from hirings
Query Handling & Filing:
- Dealing with pupil and parent queries
- Querying and updating the school's online payments system, ParentPay;
- Querying and updating the school's pupil lunch accounting software;
- Maintaining the financial archive records, scanning documents, filing and other general office duties.
There is the opportunity for the right person to grow and develop in the role with the possibility of help with study towards a recognised accountancy qualification and further responsibilities will be added to the role as training progress.

We are looking for someone wishing to progress a career in Finance who is willing to commit to studying towards an accountancy qualification and grow the role to match their study progress.
The person should be comfortable with learning and using a variety of software packages, have purchase ledger experience and be familiar with online ordering and cash handling.
