Damicor is actively recruiting a Senior Engineer Fire and Life Safety for the UK's largest airport.

This role will touch on all aspects of the airport, from Terminals to Tunnels and numerous special structures such as our control tower.

You'll be doingwork that you can take real pride in and feel genuinely passionate about whilst being part of a close-knit and supportive team.


Your role will involve:

  • Representing the Accountable Persons as the competent Fire and Life Safety Authority.
  • Leading a team to review how we maintain our assets, looking at industry best practise and optimising delivery.
  • Driving data led decisions for our assets and investigating opportunities to improve technical knowledge.
  • Technical support for our Maintenance team, looking at issues and finding solutions.
  • Technical support for our Capital Team, supporting with wider range of capital schemes ranging from retail to new and refurbished infrastructure both above and below ground.
  • Leading on Continuous Improvement, identifying opportunities with both the Heathrow Facilities Management Team and our supply chain partners.
  • Developing a thorough and quantified understanding of how our assets perform in terms of cost, risk and service performance.
  • Managing Risk, Assurance and Investigations
  • Carry out assurance activities on delivery teams within capital delivery projects and maintenance teams to ensure asset plans are being robustly applied and have appropriate plans in place to manage risk.
  • Providing professional leadership and mentoring to the engineers assigned to yo u.
  • Represent Fire and Life Safety at stakeholder meetings including Accountable Persons, Building Control, CAA, LFB and Airport Fire Service.

These skills are essential:

  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation to drive the overall agenda for asset management and execution of the strategy.
  • Proven ability to instruct, lead and manage technical and professional consultants and contractors to achieve defined outcomes.
  • Good knowledge and a strong working experience of asset management and maintenance practices, methodologies and strategies.
  • Experience of developing business cases, and the ability to translate and present data and technical knowledge in a meaningful way.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Chartered Engineer with IFireE.

All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to London.
