About The Role:

About this opportunity
Post Graduate responsibilities for assisting in all Building Surveying projects.

As a Graduate you will:

Assist Building Surveyors in the delivery of building surveying services, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations and maintenance works from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post completion reviews.
Assisting Building Surveyors with the preparation of:
Feasibility studies
Cost plans
Submissions for planning and building regulation approvals
Submissions for planning and building regulation approvals
Tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes.
Assisting building surveyors with:
Evaluating and reporting on tenders
Administration of construction contracts
Undertaking surveys including condition surveys, DDA, Fire Risk Assessments, Schedules of Condition and Acquisition Surveys.
Preparing reports for customers
Undertaking party wall surveyor duties
Providing dilapidations advice and delivering dilapidations assessments and negotiating with other parties
Undertaking quality monitoring roles of major construction projects.
Successfully complete the Gleeds internal APC preparation programme; and selfdevelopment training in readiness for attaining Chartered status (RICS)
Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks

Additional responsibilities include:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
As a Graduate, you will develop knowledge and experience in the following:

Building surveying practices and procedures
Contract administration procedures
Compliance audits and surveys
Managing contractor activities pre and postconstruction
Tendering
Party wall matters
Dilapidations
Design procedures and controls
Construction quality and monitoring
Clear and effective communication skills both oral and written
Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes
Sound problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills
Sound ICT Skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work as part of a team

Qualifications

RICS exempting or nonexempting degree.
