    • Engage with Individuals: Engage with individuals, families, groups, and communities to assess and intervene, employing a range of interventions promoting choice, control, and independence.
    • Support Plan Development: Assist individuals, carers, and families to develop support plans meeting identified outcomes, using an asset-based approach and family, friends, and community options when eligible.
    • Promote Wellbeing and Independence: Encourage involvement and ownership of the support plan, taking a leadership role where necessary, and explain Direct Payments clearly to inform decision-making.
    • Assessment and Investigation: Ensure NHS Continuous Healthcare is considered during assessments for all individuals and assist with duty/intake functions as required.
    • Safeguarding Awareness: Understand and apply Council duties and responsibilities regarding safeguarding children and young people, as well as preventing and detecting crime, including countering terrorism and reducing radicalisation risks.

    What We Offer:

    • Competitive salary and benefits package.
    • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
    • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
    • The chance to make a meaningful impact on vulnerable adults' lives.

    Requirements of the Social Worker:

    • Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
    • Current registration with Social Work England.
    • Post-qualification training in areas such as transition planning, safeguarding, or adult social care (desirable).
    • Applied knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
    • Ability to understand harm forms and their impact, and identify and plan for safeguarding with support.
    • Ability to work in a person-centred outcome-focused way.
    • Experience communicating with compassion and authority in challenging situations and with resistant individuals.

    Why Join Us?

Surrey's Adult Safeguarding Team is committed to improving adults' lives with care and support needs, ensuring they receive necessary services and resources. As a Social Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and forward-thinking environment, working towards high-quality practice and person-centred care.
