**Residential Child Care Worker (Youth Worker) - Start as soon as possible- Fulltime
- Hove, East Sussex, UK.
They manage a set of residential children's homes for children & young people aged 5-16 who are in receipt of an EHCP because they experience a range of social, emotional and mental health difficulties or other associated difficulties.
In some cases, trauma, neglect & abuse are the main factors contributing to the young peoples requirements.Our Client is expanding the school and they are looking for youth workers who will:

- Be resilient & understanding of underlying social & emotional issues
Responsibilities in this role include:
- Working and supporting children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence.
- Direct practical interactions with children and young people including activities, cooking, personal care and engaging with the wider community.
- Planning and coordination of activities.
- Working to a high standard in line with OFSTED inspection framework requirements.
- Engage in planning, implementation and delivery of care plans.
- Working in partnership with other agencies.
- Report writing and attending reviews as required.
You must be comfortable working with:
- Violence/aggression
- Complex social, emotional & mental health needs
- Verbal abuse
- You must have:
- Resilience
- Maturity
- An understanding of how your behaviour can impact the pupil/s
- Initiative to observe, learn & act
Starting Salary:
£84-£101 per day
Contract Type:
Temp to perm (12 weeks probation period -> permanent contract)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, some weekends (flexible shift patterns). Sleep ins are required but the amount is negotiable. Our client would also consider part-time.
Experience is not essential.
The school is committed to the development of our staff team and offer continual professional development including the opportunity to undertake Level 3 Diploma Working with Children and Young People, as well as basic training to work safely and effectively in the homes.
There are incredible progression opportunities with the natural progression to become a
Therapeutic Carer after 6 months (by demonstrating work undertaken).
