The Planning & Scheduling function within Severn Trent is a critical part of our Field and Contact centre operations. Therefore, we are excited to announce a new opportunity to join the team as a
Planning Assistant Team Leader.


The objective of Planning Assistant Team Lead is to lead and develop a team of front-line staff as well as being a technical expert for chemical and parts ordering for non infra.


This team is a high-volume and faced paced function and having a keen eye for and attention to detail, even when dealing with repetitive tasks, is key.


You'll be based in our modern Pride Park site where you'll be able to park for free or get to with ease with loads of local travel options.

You'll work within alongside our 280 strong Workforce Planning & Optimisation Team who all love what they do.

In turn delighting our customers & making a real difference across our region.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE


The objective of
Planning Assistant Team Lead is to lead and develop a team of front-line staff as well as being a technical expert for chemical and parts ordering for non infra, this is high volume process with quick turn arounds needed.

You will be expected to liaise with many other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of chemicals.


As the team leader, you will be focused on managing an effective team, ensuring the highest standards of service are always delivered whilst engaging with a wide stakeholder reach.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Create and lead a high performing and highly capable team up to 9 colleagues.
  • Ensure that the supply of chemicals to the company is smooth and deal with any challenges effectively.
  • Support the team to achieve the agreed performance targets and ensure SLA's are met in line with company ODI's.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and share best practice through successful problem solving. Looking for ways to automate processes where possible.
  • Experience of handling a highvolume process.
  • To provide meaningful data, with a valid insight, that allows opportunity to feedback information that will help drive promotion or resolution to stakeholders.
  • Drive and support the team through change, helping to shape the future processes of planning and scheduling.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders across the Severn Trent Water organisation, particularly in Operations and the Commercial teams.


You'll need to be performance savvy and be able to engage and coach your teams to continually refine and improve their performance and have the opportunity to improve Planning and Scheduling by identifying better ways of working and be part of delivering that change.


The planning assistant team is a faced paced, both reactive & proactive function and you must be able to balance priorities and workload demands ensuring that we can prioritise and keep our stakeholders that are involved in the process engaged at all times.


Multi-tasking and the ability to be able to use challenges and grow them into opportunities of improved ways of working is essential.
