Role Purpose
To assist in the provision of pension payroll and cash management services to clients of Trust-Based Pensions.


Key Accountabilities

Cash Management services support:

  • Maintaining cash book records for each client on the accounting system used
  • Dealing with the Accounting for Tax quarterly returns for clients
  • Monitoring cash flows
  • Processing daily payment requests
  • Providing cash management information for Trustees' meetings and client reports, if required
  • Daily checks on bank accounts, i.e. balances, BACS rejections, unusual transactions etc
  • Monthly bank statement reconciliations
  • Control the bank opening process for new and transitioning clients
  • Maintaining up to date bank mandates for clients
  • Any other cash management and accounting duties as required by the business
  • To update time records on a daily basis
  • To be flexible and provide other such support as would reasonably be expected within the role

Payroll services support:

  • Processing pensioner payrolls for various pension schemes, including PAYE reconciliations
  • Issuing of monthly payslip files to outsourcing company and monitoring confirmations of receipt of files and the dispatch of payslips
  • Manual PAYE calculations for arrears payments/overpayment recoveries
  • Submitting statutory year end returns and issuing P60 files to outsourcing company
  • Making appropriate ledger entries in the accounting system in respect of pension payrolls
  • Dealing with HMRC on issues such as the reconciliation of PAYE differences
  • Any other payroll duties as required by the business

Technical Knowledge and Professional Qualifications

Required

  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English Grade C or above
Recommended

  • Experience of working for a Third Party Administrator or inhouse pension scheme
  • Previous experience of providing pension payroll with a Third Party Administrators or inhouse pension scheme
  • Previous experience of payroll software
  • Previous experience of providing cash management and accounting services

  • Achieve a good standard of ethical behaviour, i.e. do the right thing at all times
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards
  • Comply with the FCA's requirements in relation to the Senior Managers & Certification Regime, Treating Customers Fairly and the new Consumer Duty
