Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Aston Care.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with our menu and food safety guidelines.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for culinary arts and a desire to work in a residential care environment.


Duties:


  • Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
  • Collaborate with the staff team to ensure timely meal preparation
  • Assist in the development of new menu items
  • Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed

Experience:


  • Previous experience working as a Cook in a care home or similar setting is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Proficient in meal preparation techniques and culinary skills
  • Ability to work efficiently
  • Excellent time management skills

Skills:


  • Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
  • Culinary: Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods
  • Meal preparation: Ability to prepare meals according to recipes and portion sizes
  • Food preparation: Skilled in prepping ingredients and organizing workstations
  • Cook: Experience cooking a variety of dishes
  • Kitchen: Familiarity with kitchen equipment, tools, and procedures

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent


Pay:
£11.60 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
