The Role
The Network Flexibility Lead is a critical role within easyJet's network and airport strategy team. Their primary responsibility is to manage short-term network planning activities to ensure optimal agility and profitability of easyJet's network.

This involves working closely with various teams within the company, including the scheduling and trading teams and the network management teams, to identify and implement new opportunities for additional capacity, as well as to maintain a pipeline of new routes and top-ups.


To be successful in this role, the Network Flexibility Lead must have a strong understanding of the market and competition.

They must be able to analyse data and trends to identify profit opportunities and challenge convention to deploy capacity on new flows or underserved markets.

Additionally, they must be able to work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure that network planning activities are aligned with the overall business strategy.


Overall, the Network Flexibility Lead plays a critical role in ensuring that easyJet's network remains agile and profitable in a dynamic operating environment.


Job Accountabilities


Overall, the Network Flexibility Lead will be responsible for managing and optimizing easyJet's network planning process to ensure that it remains agile and profitable, in line with the company's overall strategy.

This will involve working closely with various teams within the company and using data and insights to identify and implement new opportunities for additional capacity and profitability.


In summary the role holder will:

  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for short-term capacity adjustments based on input from network managers, trading, and other sources.
  • Producing appropriate reports and tools to automate the identification of capacity adjustment opportunities where possible.
  • Maintaining and managing a backlog of capacity adjustment opportunities and working with scheduling and pricing teams to get adjustments to market as quickly as possible.
  • Having a good understanding of the commercial performance of easyJet's network and the drivers to route performance.
  • Maintaining and managing the "continuous thinning" shortterm capacity reduction process.
  • Producing and implementing a clear plan to permanently improve easyJet's network flexibility. This will involve working with the network and scheduling teams to scope out and put into practice changes to the annual planning process aimed at improving flexibility.
  • Working with the scheduling team to develop appropriate mechanisms to allow shortterm "in season" capacity changes

Requirements of the Role

What you need to do the role
Proficiency in MS Excel with the ability to use MS PowerPoint are essential


You will also have a numerate background with experience and strength in modelling and analysis with complex and diverse data sets.

Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to use judgment to make decisions in the face of uncertainty and a proven track record of success in commercial or planning roles in an airline setting this would be advantageous

You will be inquisitive with an aptitude for analytical problem-solving and have a 'can-do' approach

Influencing and presentational skills will also be required.

Location & Hours of Work
This is a full-time role based at the easyJet holidays HQ which is near Luton Airport.

We operate a hybrid working model and get together 1-2 times a week in the office which enables us to work effectively with our immediate teammates and encourages better cross-functional working.
