Description
Our client is now seeking a Learning and Engagement Officer on a hybrid working basis. Your time will be split between home (3 days) and a combination of the office & art gallery offices. This is an initial 3-month contract which could be extended further.

Some weekend work will be expected but my client can offer time off in lieu.


Principal responsibilities:


  • Working with young people and families
  • Deliver a successful, newly established creative learning and participation offer
  • Ensure engagement with a wide range of audiences and make a positive contribution to the knowledge of the City's history and assets, driving audiences at weekends and during quieter periods
  • Collaborate with your peers to deliver paidfor learning and engagement sessions across the City's heritage assets (and realm), driving revenues.
  • Support the Events Manager to develop new creative and engaging opportunities for participation and to deliver highquality engagement experiences.
  • Identify other artists and practitioners manage and support them and do all the administration and work around delivery of the sessions.
  • Work with the Head of Gallery and Amphitheatre to develop and create a creative learning offer for the Guildhall Art Gallery.
  • Actively contribute to the development and creation of creative learning projects, workshops and programmes for both current and prospective audiences in line with the strategic vision, including developing budgets, project plans and key aims and objectives.

Key skills/experience required:


  • Previous experience in working in art galleries, being able to deliver in a gallery setting.
  • Interpretation of exhibition and artworks
  • Experience in developing and delivering creative participatory programmes.
  • Experience working with young people and families in programmes/projects in either an arts, museum, heritage, school or equivalent setting.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and latest initiatives in heritage education.
  • Experience in risk assessment writing.
  • Experience of successfully managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Microsoft Office competent
  • You'll need to be DBS checked

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 3 months


Pay:
£19.58-£19.97 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
