This role will be part of a new department - Digital Intelligence Solutions (DIS).
The department is bringing together skills in data science, data analysis, visualisation, service and product design to deliver the FCA's Digital Unified Intelligence Environment (the FCA's digital radar).
The department will work across the FCA to ensure that the data and intelligence we create and acquire, is turned into actionable insight for the organisation.
It will have a unique perspective across the breadth of the FCA's regulatory activities and is at the heart of delivering our Data Strategy.
The team is responsible for producing high quality analysis and insight products which are demonstrably influential and actionable.These products play a critical role in informing decision making at various levels within the FCA and in helping to justify our decisions to external stakeholders.
The team supports better exploitation of data and the creation of insights and analysis, to enable data-led decisions across the FCA.
What you will be doing (the role)- People managing and where appropriate supplier management of the problem to proof (P2P) team of analysts and specialists, both internal and external to deliver across a portfolio of change for a specific business division.- Scoping P2P strategies and deliverables, working with the business stakeholders to ensure requirements are shaped appropriately to deliver the desired outcome.- Managing the DIS portfolio, planning and detailed resource planning.- Quality assure the P2P deliverables, conducting audits where appropriate and in agreement with business stakeholders. Leading the delivery of qualitative and quantitative analysis including data manipulation and data visualisation- Lead an "always-on" service that enables groups of business stakeholders to work with the team on a short-term basis to address a defined business problem- Designing and developing new analysis products - being creative and adding value to our products- Direct line management of 5-6 Senior Associates/Associates with responsibility for supporting their development, training, coaching and mentoring, indirect leadership of cross -functional teams.
Minimum- Experience of working and leading data analytics or product teams with responsibility for delivering and/or overseeing analytics processes, products and outputs- Proven experience of working with quantitative and qualitative data to produce analysis in a variety of formats- Experience of solving business problems and using data and tooling- Experience of delivering through others and managing the work of teams- Experience of agile methodologies and leading agile teams
Essential- Excellent coaching and people management skills- Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and effectively prioritise own and team's work- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills- Proven experience engaging with stakeholders to understand and define requirements and use-cases and prioritise these- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation, connecting and delivering- Ability to plan, allocate tasks and work with others to deliver practical, value add outputs, tracking progress to plan and managing issues to ensure successful delivery across all tasks- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and analytical thinking- Experience working on complex projects and in an agile delivery environment
Desirable- Excellent understanding of FCA's Data Strategy- Ability to be able to present confidently at Executive Committees
