About The Role:


Lead Security Officer

London

£14.15 per hour

60 hours a week, 12hrs Monday - Friday

Working BH days as part of the role as Supervisor OOH


The role of a Lead Security Officer is very dynamic and is an essential factor in the operational functions of the building.

The role requires the monitoring of the CCTV system, access control, issuing of radios and keys on a day-to-day basis during the busy core operational hours.

The role will also require for the officer to be able to able to carry out regular building patrols, manage posts and carry out any ad hoc duties.

The role will be in line with customer/contractual agreement and obligation, ensuring service delivery and prompt response to all incidents.

Effective communication with DSM and SM needs to be maintained ensuring all incidents and reportable are escalated promptly.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • The lead officer will cover the Control Room in the absence of the DSM
  • The lead officer will conduct regular building patrols with MyTag system
  • The lead office will cover the reception during busy periods supporting frontline officers
  • The lead officer must ensure accurate records are maintained for all equipment, including Radios and ensure that all officers on duty are correctly equipped.
  • The lead officer will assist the DSM and the Security Manager in the control room with the issuing of access passes, keys & radios, bodyworn cameras and ensuring that all logs are kept up to date & report any anomalies to the other DSMs and or the Security Manager
  • The lead officer will be responsible for maintaining the control room visitor logs as per GDPR requirements
  • The lead officer will be responsible for carrying out CCTV Camera Audits checks weekly with random playback checks of CCTV recordings
  • The lead officer will help the DSM maintain an electronic Daily Occurrence Book to ensure all daily tasks, incidents and any camera issues are logged
  • The lead officer will direct all telephone inquiries to the DSM and or the Security Manager if he/she is not able to deal with the call received
  • The lead officer will monitor, report and escalate any updated news to the DSM, Security Manager, building management that may impact the business and or the building
  • The lead officer will have effective communication with the DSM and or the Security Manager via radio and escalate any issues as required
  • The lead officer in line with the DSM is to ensure a smooth running of the control room environment, ensuring that all the work is undertaken during his/her 12hr shift
  • The lead officer is to ensure the efficient working of the control room environment. You are to ensure that all the work is undertaken in compliance with the operating procedures, GDPR, current legislation and the codes of practice
  • The lead officer is to ensure that the control room and all equipment is maintained satisfactorily by managing the CCTV System and passing any issues to the DSM/SM
  • To understand and comply with the requirements of legislation that governs CCTV operations to maintain the security and integrity of the CCTV System.
  • To undertake all such duties and any other responsibilities as determined by the Security Manager and or the client Ensure that the correct PPE is worn at all times when on duty

Training
Working alongside the DSM to ensure that all training requirements are carried out with teams on duty. All training carried out must be communicated to the DSM/SM

Staff Management

  • To maintain and monitor the welfare of your shift and ensure they are motivated to achieve the best practices required on behalf of the client and Bidvest Noonan.

Chain of Command

  • Adhere to all reasonable instructions issued by the SM, DSM and or the client
  • Touch base daily with the SM, DSM to ensure all tasks and activities are carried out appropriately Liaise closely with the SM, DSM to ensure that all incidents and issues are reported and recorded accordingly

Operational Duties

  • Report & liaise daily with the Deputy Security Manager to ensure effective communication regarding all matters about the delivery and professional security service to the contract
  • Liaise with the Deputy Security Manager on any problems which may occur throughout the day
  • Liaise with the DSM to ensure complete coverage of 64 Victoria Street and manage any areas where responsibilities overlap
  • Ensure that all equipment is managed and monitored and report all defective equipment to the Security Manager.
  • Ensure that all officers are compliant with SIA requirements
  • Ensure that all security personnel have their SIA licence and Bidvest Noonan ID Cards.
  • Maintain a good level of morale and discipline within the team, taking into consideration officer's welfare.
  • Set high standards for others to follow
