Do you want to do meaningful work with real social value that improves people's lives?

Are you a highly organised and proactive individual with a passion for delivering exceptional results?

We are seeking a
Programme Support Officer to play a key role in our exciting SWITCH Transformation Programme. As a key member of our team, you will provide crucial support to ensure the success of the programme.

If you would like to work in transformational change in an organisation that is welcoming, inclusive, and forward thinking, we have a great opportunity for you

About the role

The Surrey Way is our organisation's Strategic Framework, outlining our ambitions, objectives, and guidelines across three key areas: purpose, organisation, and people.

It ensures a shared set of principles and helps staff understand how their work aligns with the council's objectives.

It embodies our mission - No One Left Behind - and guides us in becoming the desired organisation through values and behaviours for staff success.

To embed The Surrey Way, we are looking for a Programme Support Officer to work within SWITCH, the Surrey Way Innovation, Transformation & Change programme.

This will serve as the link between the Surrey Way and our refreshed 5-year Transformation Programme.

SWITCH will lay the groundwork for our future operating model, revolutionising our work processes for the benefit of residents, optimising our resources, and enhancing internal and external collaboration.

Adopting a design-led approach, we will explore new organisational models and frameworks to maximise our capabilities and identify the most efficient use of resources.

You will need to provide support to the Programme Manager and the wider team in the delivery of the SWITCH Transformation programme.

About you

We are looking for people who can evidence excellent communication skills, show they are able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities and can demonstrate an ability to adapt to changing priorities, timelines, and requirements and unexpected changes with a positive attitude.

Applicants should have a proven record of working closely with other team members, stakeholders and colleagues from different areas and have an ability to collaborate, build relationships and work effectively in a team to drive successful outcomes.

  • Can you provide examples of how you have effectively managed multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in previous roles?
  • Describe a situation where you had to adapt to changing priorities, timelines, and requirements. How did you handle it, and what was the outcome?
  • Give an example of a time when you collaborated with team members, stakeholders, or colleagues from different areas to achieve a successful outcome. What was your role in the collaboration, and how did you contribute to its success?
At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
