Annual wage
- £10,080 a year


Please note this role is term-time only, You will be paid for the 39 weeks you work out of the year.

£6 per hour, £6.50 for 18 yrs plus.

Working week

  • Monday
  • Friday, 8:00am start till 4:00pm.
Total hours per week: 35 hours a week

What will the apprentice be doing?


Responsibilities:


  • To be the first point of contact for visitors to the Academy providing a welcoming, efficient reception service
  • To provide reception services to students
  • To be able to work in a fast paced reception area multitasking between reception duties
  • Be the initial point of contact for all enquiries by telephone and in person, advising staff, parents, pupils and visitors on appropriate source of information
  • To be able to deal with challenging visitors, parents and students appropriately whilst maintaining a calm persona
  • Ensure all visitors are issued with badges in order to comply with the Academy's security procedures
  • Ensure that visitors are met by the appropriate member of staff and escorted within the Academy unless their DBS status is known and it has been agreed that they visit the Academy without direct supervision
  • Be the main contact point for staff with regards to Academy events of any one day
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly reception area
Support with ParentPay account set up, queries from parents and general support

  • Support with Bromcom queries from parents and general support for example MCAS, etc
  • Word processing and data input as directed
  • Assist with duplicating, collating and distribution of information to parents/carers, staff, students and others
  • To ensure confidentiality at all times when dealing with issues re Staff, Students or Parents
  • Undertake general clerical duties when directed including photocopying, printing, laminating and filing
  • Franking outgoing post and sorting incoming mail
  • Provide refreshments to visitors when required
  • Support with Academy evening events for example, parent evenings, open evening etc
  • Make telephone calls to parents and carers as required
  • Supervise students as required
Any other reasonable duties as directed by Line Manager

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The apprenticeship training will take place in house while you are at the workplace. We book once a month training session with your allocated tutor. This will be on a platform called Smart Assessor. Here your tutor will go through the modules and units of your course
  • We also have 68 weeks monthly review plans, this will be with yourself, line manager and tutor
  • The training you will be undertaking is Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C and above or Level 2) essential

Things to consider


Once successful we will need to submit off a DBS to make sure we are good to go This can take a few weeks to come back so please be sure that the start date may change to later.

This is all depending on how fast the DBS clears. This is something out of our control with timing.

About the employer

Oasis Academy South Bank is a free school in Lambeth, London, England. It is coeducational secondary school with sixth-form that was opened and run by the Oasis Community Learning. It opened to pupils in September 2013.

It was fully operating on its site in September 2016for learning that we hope to instill in future cohorts to come.

We are at the heart of an amazing community. A few minutes ride on the train into the centre of London.
