The Commercial Assistant role entails directly administering and managing key accounts for the company's customers. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth workflow and exceeding customer expectations in terms of service standards.


Main Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to provide daily updates on open repairs.
  • Administer workflow through to completion, meeting customerdriven targets.
  • Liaise directly with customers to address work order status inquiries.
  • Respond to RFQs and customer queries within targeted timeframes, surpassing established customer service standards.
  • Collaborate with the commercial manager to achieve department sales targets, maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships, coordinating open orders.
  • Create and regularly update customer status reports.
  • Effectively manage potential customer complaints and relay technical information between workshop engineers and customers.
  • Document and report customerinduced damage.
  • Gather commercially sensitive information from customers on pricing, performance, and opportunities for business growth.
  • Administer direct sales inquiries and nurture new business opportunities.
  • Prepare commercial quotes and invoices, ensuring high standards and approval by the Commercial Manager.
  • Assist the commercial manager in delivering contract proposals, pricing, and presentations.
  • Provide advice and assistance with contract queries, invoicing issues, and credit control.
  • Complete all tasks accurately and in a timely manner, meeting customer and departmental deadlines.
  • Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Conscientious, confident, and computer literate.
  • Wellorganized and articulate.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of databases and appropriate software packages.
