Job Advert:

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, friendly and versatile to join the team at Bedford Borough Libraries to help us deliver a high quality and welcoming service to a diverse range of customers.

As a Casual Library Assistant, you may be booked to cover shifts at all libraries in Bedford Borough, Bedford Central, Kempston, Putnoe, Bromham and Wootton libraries, including weekend shifts.

You may be contacted at short notice to cover all or part of the working day, so a flexible attitude to work is essential.

You will be excellent at multi tasking, have a proactive approach and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently. You will have excellent customer service skills and be able to use ICT competently and securely.

You will be interacting with customers by helping them use the self service system, answering their enquiries, providing ICT and digital support as well as taking part in library activities and carrying out a range of day to day library routines.
