Description

The post holder must be able to work using their own initiative, have excellent communication skills to liaise with patients as well as all members of the clinical team.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to integrate well within the existing team, be flexible in supporting the functions of the Department and have a genuine desire to contribute to providing a quality service for patients.

Interview Date: 7 July 202- 21 hours week


A typical day involves visiting our Outpatient Areas to collect information, accessing the electronic referrals systems and sending appointment letters, scanning in to electronic records, requesting appointments to be made via our Booking Centre, speaking to patients and professionals over the telephone - with ad hoc duties as they arise.

Within this role, you can expect to be involved in the following (though not exhaustive):

  • Answering phone calls from patients and staff
  • Booking appointments
  • Maintaining eReferral
  • Uploading to the patient record
  • Validating data collection/cleansing
  • Walking between departments and ordering stationary

  • Working within a team of administrative staff supporting the provision of an efficient secretarial support service to Consultants, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff within their team, i.e. Specialist Nurses
  • Audio typing of letters and documents
  • Deal with telephone enquires promptly.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of medical staff
  • Cover admin posts Trust wide as required.
