INTRODUCTION TO WHITEHEAD-ROSS EDUCATION & CONSULTING
Whitehead-Ross Education and Consulting (WREC) is an education and social welfare organisation. Founded in 2012, we deliver a variety of high-quality skills-related programmes and social services provision.

Our programmes include support for unemployed individuals to retrain and secure jobs, vocational training programmes, adult education and social services provision such as support for families who have children with disabilities and parenting support.

With a workforce of 106 staff and still expanding, between 1st August 2022 and

30th July 2023, we supported a total of 3,568 participants across our programmes in Cornwall, Dorset, South Wales, Sussex, Wiltshire and Worcestershire.

Since we started in 2012, we have now supported 11,493 individuals

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK Government's Levelling Up agenda. The fund provides £2.6 billion of new funding for local investment by March 2025. The UKSPF replaced European funding following the UK's withdrawal from the EU.

Whitehead-Ross Education has been successful in securing funding from the UKSPF for Multiply, delivered in partnership with Newport City Council.

Multiply is a new UK Government programme to help transform the lives of adults across the UK, by improving their functional numeracy skills through free personal tutoring, digital training, and flexible courses.

The aim of Multiply is to provide meaningful participation that boosts people's ability to use maths in their daily life, at home and work - and enable adults to achieve formal qualifications that can open doors for them (such as career progression, or progression to further study).

We will support 295 participants on courses aimed at parents wanting to increase their numeracy skills in order to help their children and help with their own progression, such as Numeracy for Parents in Supporting Their Child with Maths and City and Guilds Level 1 and Level 2 Maths Skills Awards.

The exciting and varied Community Engagement Officer role will lead on developing relationships, and engaging with external stakeholders, such as Jobcentres, housing associations and third sector organisations, to promote our Multiply courses in Newport.

You will be responsible for regularly updating stakeholders, developing new relationships, generating leads of prospective participants, providing information, advice and guidance on our courses and enrolling adult learners who are unemployed, on low income or economically inactive.

This will be a target driven role, with a focus on working to a monthly profile of participants being enrolled.
