About Our Client
Michael Page is proud to be working exclusively with Changing Lives in Collaboration Cooperative Trust (CLIC), Manchester. CLIC was formed in 2016 from a Soft Federation. Since then, it has become a Trust of five primary schools.

The Head of Finance is a critical role within Finance and the wider organisation as they continue to grow, and work to deliver their long-term strategic development.

You will oversee a small transactional team consisting of a Purchase Ledger Clerk and AccountsAssistant.


The Head of Finance will be responsible for an efficient and accurate financial management service, statutory returns, and budget planning.

With a good understanding of internal control procedures, you will give guidance and training to staff who processfinancial data and budget holders.

As a strong communicator, you will be integral to the team's support system for school leaders, helping them to interpret financial information and use key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement throughmonitoring of actual against budget.

This role will contribute to the Trust's long-term strategic development and planning. Work closely with the Headteacher and have responsibility for all financial and operational matters affecting individual schools andthe Trust

The Head of Finance will:
- lead on strategic, financial issues of all aspects of the Trust;
- provide an accurate and timely financial management service, including support in the setting and monitoring of budgets and forecasts;
- production of management and financial accounts;
- ensure that the financial and operational systems, processes, and functions are compliant, efficient, reliable, and quality assured through effective policies and internal controls;
- be responsible for all internal and external audit preparation and carrying out recommended actions;
- lead on the closure of the accounts and the preparation of the annual statement of accounts;
- produce clear, concise, professionally researched policies, plans and reports;
- monitor business and financial performance against expectations and external benchmarks through systematic quality assurance, self-evaluation, and planning.


The Successful Applicant

- £50,906 to £55,564 per annum

  • 35 hours per week
  • Excellent holiday entitlement
  • Bank Holidays plus 25 days paid holiday. In addition, 5 days extra paid holiday after 5 year's service
