Responsibilities:

***- 1. Effective use of the commissioning cycle. This includes identifying and reviewing services, analysis of strengths and assets, drafting service specifications, setting and monitoring quality standards and indicators, leading on procurement, and evaluating outcomes.

Implement strategies in line with the Council and CCG's standards and relevant procedures, including financial management. This will include supporting the implementation of the future Learning Disabilities Charter to make the borough more accessible to people with learning disabilities; for example, by helping employers and health services to make reasonable adjustments that increase accessibility.
Manage a portfolio of contracts; leading quality assurance and performance monitoring of health and social care services. In the first two years this may include a link role with primary care services as part of setting up the future "neighbourhood's model".
Produce high quality, compelling reports e.g. business cases, commissioning plans, options appraisals, performance assessments and briefings, using local and national benchmarking data, and research into best practice.
Represent the CCG and LBH in discussions with residents, providers, and stakeholders for specific projects.
Evaluate projects, including their quality, effectiveness, service user satisfaction, value for money and financial viability for ongoing commissioning.
Use insights and knowledge from the delivery of commissioning projects to develop commercial awareness and ensure that the wider commissioning team adopts best practice in their work.
Support and implement audits and commissioning reviews to assess the effectiveness of commissioning decisions, and report conclusions and recommendations.
