Technical Project Manager - 1 year fixed term - Maternity cover - Hybrid/Predominantly remote
Reports to:
Technical Programme Manager
Role overview
To provide maternity cover to deliver an effective project management service for business initiatives, by managing multiple projects through the complete project lifecycle to include overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, andcompletion.
Reporting to the Application Development Manager, this is a key role to deliver a number of highly technical projects to enhance customer experience and internal improvements.
The focus of this role is the procurement, build and implementation of technicalsolutions working closely with internal, and vendor led teams to deliver innovative solutions integrated closely with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Business Central and Marketing.
Role responsibilities
Be the lead for delivery of multiple technical projects ensuring they have clear objectives, deliverables, and customer-approved requirements, and manging all dependencies from a timeline and technical perspective.
Liaise with third parties, customer contacts and other internal project managers to ensure effective progress is maintained on the overall larger programme of work to ensure they deliver against specification, schedule and cost parameters.
Defining and managing the project change process effectively communicating the change and ensuring the project sponsor is aware and accepts the implications for time, cost, and quality.
Communicating and aligning continuously with customers, project sponsors and, for larger projects, the Programme Board and project boards on all areas of technical requirements, progress, and changes.
Ensuring technical decisions are made in order to deliver business and customer benefit within the boundaries of agreed scope & budgets.
Research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company.
Taking responsibility for your own health, safety, and wellbeing, and undertaking health and safety duties and responsibilities for your role
Knowledge
Knowledge and experience of Project Management principles and/or frameworks (Waterfall, Agile)
Skills and abilities
Proven influencing and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels, with the confidence and ability to negotiate
Risk management - ability to identify, assess and manage project risks
Business analysis - competence in defining and documenting business requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels
Excellent level of technology background in a software development, software owner or project delivery role
Ability to train, supervise and manage project activity to work effectively with all stakeholders
Experience
Proven experience of managing projects as a hands-on Technical Project Manager
Experience of implementing and using project management tools, processes, methods, and standards
Track record of successful delivery of projects, including benefits realisation
Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships which include high-level contact, partnership, and alliance building
Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising talent in the technology department
Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
Education
Prince 2 professional qualification (or equivalent) or currently working towards
Degree in Project Management or related technical field preferable
