First Achieve Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer, in the Norwich region.

You will be working with a contractor in Energy Engineering, who specialise in offering solutions to the oil and gas, marine, and offshore industries.

This is a Permanent Position, reporting to Senior Design Engineer.

Undertaking design tasks assigned by the Engineering Director / Design Engineering Manager including management of those tasks from project outset to completion of all requirements.

The salary on offer is in the region of £35-37k.

The Role:

Undertake design activities in accordance with Design Engineering Procedure.
Compile and develop conceptual designs and present to the project team (including Suppliers where appropriate), gather feedback and buy in.
Undertake Mechanical and Structural calculations, and finite element analysis (FEA) which adhere and comply with company standards, protocols and appropriate industry codes.
To undertake Mechanical and Structural drafting which adhere and comply with company standards, protocols and appropriate industry codes.
Prepare supporting documentation in line with agreed industry standards as required by the project, such as drawings, inspection forms, test procedures, EMI's, etc.
Check colleague's calculations, FEA, drawings and documents as assigned.
Present and chair design reviews in accordance with department training and guidelines documented in the Design Engineering Process, using IT equipment available to fully present the competed design.
To support the sales effort to develop / review design solutions, resource and delivery plans in support of company proposals.
Participate actively in team meetings, seminars, reviews and project planning events.
Assist in training and mentoring graduate / developing engineers.

Required

Time Served Engineer with minimum HND in Design Engineering.
Minimum 3 years' experience in offshore industry.
Experience with structural and mechanical design in the offshore environment, both topside and Subsea.
Experience with preparation and presentation of design packs for third party review and appraisal.
Experience of working with structural / finite element software packages.
