We are recruiting on behalf of a client of ours for a Diagnostics Area Operator, to join their team in Cardiff.
The client is a worldwide leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of electronic products for a wide range of consumer, business and industrial needs.
Hourly pay rate:
£10.42 per hour rising to £10.90 per hour
Hours: 38.45 hours working Monday to Friday 8am-16.15pm
Purpose of the Role
The core responsibility for this role is ensure that the clients Service Workshop maintains its world-renowned quality and Turn Around Time (TAT).
The Diagnostic Area within the Workshop ensures the devices are fully up to date with firmware and software, fully hardware tested and inspected while maintaining the TAT expected.
Principle Accountabilities- Collecting repaired units from Technicians.
- Follow Production and Service Work Instructions to ensure correct processing/configuration of units
- Updating BIOS and EC firmware to latest and appropriate versions.
- Run device through automated hardware testing.
- Reinstall Windows OS when required using an inhouse imaging console.
- Boot to USB media to run inhouse testing to complete Keyboard, Touchscreen and Trackpad testing.
- Transact RMAs through the clients Siebel system.
- Record quantity of devices processed for a technician.
- Inspect unit for issues such as missing screws, damage etc. and coordinate with the Technician and QC Inspector(s)
- Work closely with the QC inspector to ensure correct level of inspection is carried out (100%, 50%)
- Ensure device is processed through all stages to meet shipping cutoffs.
- Experience in a similar position, in a fastpaced environment.
- Background with PC Hardware & Software skills and (or) working knowledge.
